National Intern Day

Recognizing our Cancer Program Interns

It’s National Intern Day! The Cancer Program at Parkland is currently home to 4 fantastic interns! Three are pictured from left to right, Sally, Iman, and Mounika, not pictured is Sai. All of our interns have done phenomenal work for the Cancer Program, and have demonstrated exemplary work ethic. We wish them continued success as they begin their careers.

Sally is a Masters of Public Health student, concentrating in Maternal and Child Health, studying at the UNT Health Science Center in Fort Worth. She has been working on our Cancer Program Social Media Posts, Cancer Program Website, a Colorectal Cancer Community Education Program, and Cancer Awareness Month events and speaker series. She will be with us for a year from May 2022 to May 2023.

Iman is a dual Masters of Business Administration and Healthcare Administration student studying at Texas Woman’s University. She has been working on several Quality Improvement Projects, the Development of Support Groups and Programs, Clinic Survivorship Celebrations, and Grants for our Cancer Program. She is a multi-semester intern, and will be with us for a year from January 2022 to December 2022.

Mounika is a Human Biology Major studying at the University of Texas at Austin. She has been working on Process Improvement Projects to reduce wait times in the Port Room, and helping organize the move of several clinics into Moody Outpatient Center as we expand our services. She also helped plan and gather material for program-wide meetings, and organized events. She is a Summer Intern, and spent 8 weeks with our Program.

Sai is a dual MD and Masters of Public Health Student studying at UT Southwestern. He spent the majority of his time with our program working with leadership and clinical staff to develop and revise the Breast Health Report. He is a summer intern, and will spend time from May to August 2023 with the Cancer Program.
