Bridging Oncology and Primary Care: Colorectal Cancer

Kicking Off Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month

Parkland’s Cancer Program launched a new speaker series this month called “Bridging Oncology and Primary Care”. This will be a recurring speaker series, focusing on patient care across the Cancer Care Continuum.

This series aims to provide educational support and continue to bridge the role of primary care providers in cancer care. Our first event was focused on Colorectal Cancer, to highlight screening, treatment, and survivorship care to honor Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month in March.

Tam Lam, MPAS, PA-C, and Batool Saleem, MPAS, PA-C from the Medical Oncology – GI/GU clinic presented comprehensive information on Colorectal Cancer diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship care that will assist providers in making sure patient experience is seamless across all levels of care. Thank you to all who attended, we look forward to continuing this speaker series throughout the year.
