Cancer Resource Center

The Cancer Resource Center at the Moody Outpatient Center of Parkland Health provides education, support, guidance, and assistance to patients and caregivers after a cancer diagnosis. At the Cancer Resource Center, patients can receive multiple kinds of support from Parkland Health services and other outside organizations. Staff help patients and caregivers with their questions, concerns, worries, fears, and hopes.

Cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers are invited to participate in many of the educational and support programs available.

What is available in the Cancer Resource Center?

Cancer Resource CenterHealth Library – a Health Library has educational materials, information, and pamphlets to help answer questions

Cancer Support Group – patients, survivors, and caregivers share their experiences and support each other

Classes – patients, survivors, and caregivers can attend classes to teach them about different topics

Current Classes:

 

Community Resources – refers patients to non-profit organizations for support with their diagnosis and treatment

Support Items – offers donated items such as scarves, hats, blankets, and other items to patients to ease their pain and increase self-esteem as they struggle with the side effects of cancer

Wig Room – where patients can have wig fittings and other fittings for compression garments or post-surgical wear.
