A Patient Driven Approach to Adapting Care

Parkland utilizes the Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) to provide feedback and hear ideas from those who have lived experiences within our system. The Cancer Program PFAC includes patients and family members who have gone through the Parkland Cancer Program and have chosen to serve on this council. 

Since its first meeting in May of 2021, our PFAC members have provided valuable feedback and suggestions on how we can improve our patient and family experience as they progress in the cancer care continuum. Through regular meetings with Cancer Program Leadership, they have helped us develop ideas such as UpLift Kits, Community Outreach Events, Survivorship Certificates, Comment Cards, and numerous other projects.

We thank our PFAC members for their continued support and service to Parkland’s Cancer Program.
